If you've ever gone online, you've created a login identity and a password. The login identity can be upper or lower case letters, with a few symbol keys that are permitted, and often a number or two. Logins such as "mommy31" or "bethsdaddy2007" are not uncommon. Login identities are often visible to others on the internet, yet offer you some privacy over using your real name.

Passwords are a bit trickier. Your password is supposed to be longer than six letters, but often no longer than eight. It is supposed to be a mix of upper and lower case letters, with punctuation and number symbols thrown in haphazardly. It is not supposed to be a name, a noun, or even a real word. Any word that can be found in any dictionary is not safe from hackers! Then, to make matters worse, you should not use the same password for each site! How then, are you supposed to keep track of them?

Use an Address Book to Manage Your Online Information

You can find a small address book at almost any store that sells school supplies. These books were intended for snail-mail addresses. The pages are in alphabetical order, and have a place for recording information, like name, address, phone numbers, and more.
