Cedar Rapids Movie Explores One Man’s Awakening
Tim Lippe (Helms) proudly sells insurance for the BrownStar Insurance Agency in his small hometown. He lives a simple life in a modest home and relishes the romantic relationship (he calls “pre-engaged”) with his much-older former 7th grade teacher, Mrs. Vanderhei (Sigourney Weaver). She, and his boss Bill Krogstad (Stephen Root), have watched over the parentless Tim for many years, in very different ways, of course.
When a freak accident takes the life of BrownStar’s top insurance agent, Tim is called upon to attend the convention on the company’s behalf. He’s tasked with making a sales pitch that will again allow BrownStar to claim the coveted Two Diamonds Award for Excellence.
